Join us for an engaging webinar focusing on the care of photographs as we celebrate this year’s Virginia Archives Month theme, “Oh Snap: Photography in the Archives.”
Sarah Casto, the photograph and paper conservator at the Ohio State University Libraries, will share her expertise on caring for photographs, discuss her experience as a photo conservator, and offer dos and don’ts for caring for your own photographs, including information about identification, storage, labeling and basic emergency preparedness. Casto performs conservation treatments to stabilize and improve the condition of paper items and photographs in the Libraries’ Special Collections. She has previously served as assistant conservator at the George Eastman Museum in Rochester, New York, and photograph conservation fellow at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art in Fort Worth, Texas.
Programming assistance is provided by the Friends of the Virginia State Archives, a 501(c)(3) organization.
